Our purpose-built Downhill Karts provide the rider with full control over their speed and direction using a unique braking and steering system. It’s simple to use, just pull back on the handlebars to slow down or stop and push forward slightly to accelerate. Find out more here.

Downhill Karting:

Children must be at least 6 years of age and over 110cm tall to be eligible to ride unaccompanied.

Children aged 2 years+ and over 85cm tall can ride the Karts in tandem with an adult aged 20+ years provided the child can walk unassisted, fit a helmet and follow our staff’s instructions. Please note both Kart drivers and tandem riders need to be able to fit in the cart safely to ride together.

Chairlift:

Children must be at least 6 years of age and over 135cm tall to be eligible to ride the chairlift unaccompanied.

Children aged 2 years+ and over 85cm tall can ride the chairlift with an adult aged 20+ years provided the child can walk unassisted and follow our staff’s instructions.

Additionally, guests need to be aware of and comply with the ‘Alpine Responsibility Code – Clause 10’ when boarding the chairlift: “You must have sufficient physical dexterity, ability and knowledge to safely load, ride and unload lifts. If in doubt, ask the lift attendant.”

There are no weight restrictions on either the Chairlift or the Downhill Karts.

We recommend you wear comfortable clothing and covered toe shoes.

Yes, you can bring your own helmet. Full-faced helmet visors should be open when interacting with our staff.

Please note: In order to purchase photos and videos of your experience you’ll need to grab an RFID sticker and attach it to your helmet. This enables us to locate your photos and videos.

Our purpose-built karts are gravity-fuelled, and the rider has full control over speed and direction using a unique braking and steering system, so the speed depends on you!

For safety reasons, expectant mothers are not permitted to ride the track.

We have Luge & Chairlift rules that need to be followed whilst participating in our activity. This is important because it allows everyone to have a safe yet thrilling experience. Find out more here.

Please be aware that each ride typically takes between 20-30 minutes to complete (round-trip), depending on how busy we are on the day.

We highly recommend that you arrive on time, or at least within the first 15 minutes of your booking time to ensure you have sufficient time to complete your rides.

Please note we are an outdoor activity and there is no shade at our top terminal, so please ensure you prepare accordingly for the weather of the day you are riding.

Our time slot system is used to help manage and spread guest volumes out over the course of our open hours to improve guest flow and overall experience.

Weather checks will be given on tickets when weather causes our operation to close for more than 30 minutes. Weather checks will allow riders to complete their unused or remaining rides at another time. You can check the status of our operations on our website, we recommend checking before you come to visit.

Yes, printed and digital photos/ videos can be purchased onsite or pre-purchase online.

Downhill Karting Calgary is not part of WinSport.

Ticketing

No, we do not sell tickets onsite. All tickets must be purchased online from our website.

When you purchase a Standard Ticket, you’ll get the option to upgrade your ticket to a Flexi-Ticket, giving you more flexibility when you need to make a change to your booking due to unforeseen circumstances.

Change of booking fees are as follows:

Standard Tickets

  • Change of booking:
      • Up to 12 hours before your scheduled booking: $15 admin fee.
      • One change per ticket only.
  • Refund available up to 48 hours before your booking slot.

Flexi Tickets

  • Change of booking with Flexi-Ticket:
    • Changes can be made free of charge up to 12 hours before your scheduled booking time.
    • One change per ticket only.
  • Refund available up to 12 hours before your booking slot.
